Cool School Food

Cool School Food in New York City and Ithaca are partnerships between the New York Coalition for Healthy School Food, the school districts, businesses and organizations to develop, test, and implement plant-based, made from scratch, international bean and tofu based recipes in school cafeterias. The program seeks to introduce the recipes with promotional events and educational materials designed to make trying new foods and learning about their health benefits both fun and exciting. In Ithaca, Cool School Food is also a Farm to School Program, featuring locally grown, organic beans and grains grown at Cayuga Pure Organics!

Cool School Food is focusing in Ithaca on recipe refinement, menuing and marketing our plant-based entrees that we have developed over the last few years and will be introducing at least one new recipe this year.

In Ithaca, students are enjoying Chinese Golden Croquettes with Orange Ginger Sauce, North African Red Lentils, Pasta Fazool, and Ms. Patel's Rajma in addition to other recipes. These recipes will be served on Thursdays.

Because the cost of our programs are generally not paid for by the schools, your donation will help us to reach more students. If you would like to donate, click here.
