An Easy Way to Fulfill Nutrition Education Goals as Mandated
by Local Wellness Policies

The New York Coalition for Healthy School Food is very excited to introduce Wellness Wakeup Call - our signature nutrition education program that is easy to use. The program includes 30 months of nutrition education messages with a different topic each month. We have finished writing the program (thanks for the patience of those who have waited) and are working on formatting the documents. We will have the entire 30 month program in two PDF files, one for K-5 grade, and another for 6-12. No more downloading separate files! Check back soon - we hope to have the new format up by September 30th at the latest.

How? Get Involved with your School's Local Wellness Policies:

  • Available in K-5 and 6-12 versions
  • Helps schools to meet the nutrition education guidelines of the federally mandated Local Wellness Policies of the Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act
  • No additional burden to teachers
  • Takes 30 seconds or less per day to implement
  • Free for schools in New York State
  • Available to out of state and out of country schools for just $50.00 per year

They just want to sell their products and make money. They are usually very successful in duping/brainwashing (use whatever phrase would work best for your students) most of America’s youth, and see you as the “bull’s-eye” of the target. You can be different. Thinking for yourself means that they did not succeed in hoodwinking you. Enjoy your day, the healthy way! (Month #9, Media Literacy and Food Politics)
